  • UM-GCMH Research Group Director, Brian J. Hall, PhD, is awarded the 2016 Theodore Blau Early Career Award for Distinguished Professional Contributions to Clinical Psychology from the Society of Clinical Psychology, Division 12 of the American Psychological Association! This award:“Honors a clinical psychologist for professional accomplishments in clinical psychology.” Professor Hall will receive the award in Denver, during the American Psychological Association annual convention this August.

  • Research team member Chan-kit HOI was offered a position at National Changhua University of Education in Taiwan to study his Masters degree in Counselling Psychology. Congratulations!
  • Research team members Tat Leong WU  and Chan Kit HOI, were selected as student research award finalists at the ARUPS conference in Singapore and both were awarded student research awards for their oral presentations of their thesis work at the conference! Congratulations!

  • Dr. Hall will serve as a Guest Editor for the The European Journal of Psychotraumatology, Special Issue: Global Mental Health: Trauma and adversity among populations in transition. Due date for submissions is May 31. Please follow this link for the call for papers: ‪https://ow.ly/JAe6u
  • Members of the Migrant Health Working Group, Dr. Khoe and Dr. Hall, will have their commentary on the Ebola epidemic and the African Migrant Community in Guangzhou, China, published in the American Journal of Public Health. The piece was coauthored with Professor Adams Bodomo, and led by Lavinia Lin, MPH.

  • Research group members Eric Wu, Chan Hoi, Kalon Sou and Dr. Hall had their conference abstracts accepted for presentation at the upcoming 5th ASEAN Regional Union of Psychological Societies (ARUPS) Congress in Singapore (March 2015)!
  • Dr. Hall was given the best oral presentation award at the World Psychiatric Association Conference held in December in Hong Kong, China.

October:

  • Dr. Hall and his MPH advisee from Sun Yat-sen School of Public Health (PanTeng) had their oral presentation abstracts selected as “Excellent Papers” and both had their abstracts published in the European Journal of Psychotraumatology.
